@Ojyokpe , the outcry over Tyla coming to Lagos for her A*Pop' tour is a natural reaction from Nigerians. It’s coming from a history of xenophobic attacks not just on Nigerians, but Africans living in South Africa.

That said, we also need to look inward. It’s hypocritical to condemn xenophobia while staying silent on tribalism at home. Can we bring that same energy to addressing the divisions among us?

At this point, her silence makes touring other African countries feel insensitive. If there’s no acknowledgment, then why tour Africa?
