Good morning Lekeelekee family. To those who trek(footwagen) and, catch public transportation to their different rendezvous, I want to call your attention to an observation. Assuming, your church prophet, afa, or imam tells you to give alms to 20 beggars, to obtain your request from God. Where will you go, to find 20 beggars easily? My guess is, the local motor garage. I witnessed a scene at toll gate,Ota. My friend and I stepped out of the tantaliser restaurant, saw a swarm of people people around a man. Curiosity got us closer, as the swarm got bigger, and push got to shove. All of a sudden, the crowd was gone, the man was on crawling up from the ground, bewildered. His side pouch was gone, and his clothing soiled all over. We approached him,and he gave us account of my intro above. He lives not too far, so we took him home and went our way. Two things crept into my analytical mind; the intention to fulfil a spiritual message, and the physical environment that it has to be performed in. Haaa!!! this society na wah o. I see why no one cares about beggars anymore, yet they are part of society. Begging has become a profession, 419, so is stealing at the high level. Like Fela Kuti said in one of his songs, "....they don't need no gun.... but a pen.." At that scene I saw what truly happened, but ground conditions didn't permit physical intervention. The roads were soupy marshy, overcrowd is an understatement of the area, yet we condone it,in this society. 14 people occupying space meant for 7. This is so heartbreaking for anyone with good heart and good intentions. I guess, our leaders do not have that. The saga continues. Have a pleasant day folks.

Suraj Olasunkanmi Tairu: @Emekus, thanks for your honest response. Verily there are beggars in every country,in one form or another. In the u.s., despite provision for the needy and deprived, there are still beggars on the streets, many due to mental conditions. Inversely, to a larger extent, beggary is a profession for man...
