🛡 Bandits kill worshippers in Sokoto mosque attack

Armed bandits stormed Tsamaye village in Sabon Birni LGA, Sokoto State, on Tuesday night, killing at least seven people — including three shot inside a mosque during Ishai prayers — and abducting residents.

The attackers arrived around 8:30 p.m. in large numbers and remained for over six hours. They first surrounded and pinned down security operatives stationed in the village, then moved house-to-house, rustling livestock, looting shops, setting a vehicle ablaze and burning two shops. At least three abductions were confirmed after relatives called victims' phones and bandits answered. The total number abducted remains unclear, as many residents fled into nearby bushes.

Five of the seven killed were internally displaced persons who had previously fled bandit attacks in neighbouring communities and taken refuge in Tsamaye.
