🏛 Tinubu vows fierce contest ahead of 2027 election

President Bola Tinubu has declared he will seek a second term in 2027 and warned the opposition to expect a hard-fought campaign.

Speaking during a meeting with the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Nigeria at the State House on Tuesday, Tinubu said: "I'm ready, but I won't give them a red carpet. I won't offer them the leash to tie me and rope me. No, we wrestle each other to the finishing point."

The remarks signal Tinubu's formal intent to run for re-election as political activity around the 2027 presidential race intensifies.
