The CAF Executive Committee announced they're set to assess and evaluate the FIFA Forward Enterprise proposal.

"The Confederation Africaine de Football (“CAF“) received correspondence today from FIFA on the proposed FIFA Forward Enterprise initiative, in accordance with the consultation process that is currently underway with FIFA Member Associations and the FIFA Council.

As part of this consultation process, the CAF President, Dr Patrice Motsepe, will host a meeting of the CAF Executive Committee next week, to inter-alia, assess and evaluate the proposed FIFA Forward Enterprise initiative.

CAF also encourages its Member Associations to examine the FIFA Forward Enterprise proposal and participate in the consultation process in accordance with CAF and FIFA’s regulations and established procedures.

CAF is committed to continue consulting and working together with its Member Associations, FIFA, other Football Confederations and stakeholders in support of increasing financial and other resources for the development and growth of football in Africa and worldwide." they wrote on a official press release.

The FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE) proposal is a controversial plan announced by FIFA President Gianni Infantino to create a $20 billion commercial subsidiary that sells minority equity stakes to private investors (such as JPMorgan and a Kushner-linked fund) in exchange for boosting global football development funds.

FIFA would bundle commercial rights (broadcast, sponsorship, ticketing, licensing) and tournament operations into FFE while retaining majority control.

Member associations were given until September 19, 2026, to back the plan, with a reported $40 million financial incentive attached for early joining. The plan promises to increase per-member association development funding from $8 million to $20 million for the 2027–2030 cycle, totaling over $10 billion.

Infantino stated the plan is optional and requires backing from a majority of the 211 member nations and the FIFA Council.

UEFA strongly condemned the plan, calling an emergency meeting to discuss pushback and potential boycotts over private equity entering the World Cup. Concacaf and AFC rejected the plan too.
