Your Excellency President Tinubu, opposition parties, independent candidates, courts, efcc 240 million Nigerians are writing as concerned Nigerian who is deeply troubled by the recent announcement from the Sokoto State Hisbah Board banning several wedding and social practices, including the use of DJs, the “Na Gani In So” introduction ceremony, mixed‑gender entertainment, extravagant bridal gifts, and other cultural activities described as un‑Islamic innovations.
Sir, with all due respect, these issues do not address the real suffering Nigerians face daily. Our nation has endured boko haram attacks since 1999, and many families continue to lose loved ones. Millions of young Nigerians remain unemployed. Over 240 million Nigerians need jobs, food security, affordable housing, quality healthcare, and access to education up to the highest levels.
Nigeria needs large‑scale investment in farming to achieve food sufficiency. We need new schools, free education up to the PhD level, new hospitals, and free healthcare. We demand housing projects that give ordinary Nigerians dignity and stability.
These are the priorities that will reduce poverty, hunger, and suffering. Banning DJs or wedding customs will not solve the challenges facing our nation for decades sirs/madams
Sir, Nigerians are not trying to be disrespectful. We are simply asking for leadership that focuses on the urgent needs of 240 million Nigerians. If these critical issues cannot be addressed with seriousness and urgency, then it may be time to allow Nigerians to elect leaders who have integrity, compassion, and a genuine commitment to the future of our children in the 36 states 774 LGA
We demand you to please focus on the real problems affecting 240 million Nigerians and do the needful. This is a humble request sirs/madams kindly stop wasting our time
