THE NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF NOT PROPERLY DISPOSING NYLON & PLASTICS WASTE MATERIALS AND THE WAY OUT:

These are non-biodegradable waste materials that can stay for hundreds of years without melting or been decomposed
Nigeria generates over five million tonnes of these waste yearly making it the highest generator in Africa

They pose severe threats to the environment and the entire ecosystem
The EVER increase growth in our population, increase in consumption patterns have contributed to the sudden increase in waste generation in Nigeria.
The improper disposable contaminate our soil and there by disrupting harvest produce, poses risk to our food value chains and reducing food production

WAY OUT

Some of the solutions i have suggested in the conferences i have attended as the way out include, but are not limited to:

1. Implementing "buy-back programs" for items like plastic bottles, encouraging returns after use.

2. Increasing government awareness about the importance of post-consumption material management.

3. Promoting the economic value of waste materials and

4. Enforcing the establishment and efficacy of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) programs.
These will help us more than we expected
