🗳️ SAMBO: IT IS NOT PRESIDENT TINUBU’S PLACE TO JUDGE INEC’S FAIRNESS

Director of News at Arise News, Sumner Sambo, has said it is not the responsibility of President Bola Tinubu to determine whether the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been fair or not.

Speaking during a television discussion on Nigeria’s political landscape and recent developments involving the judiciary, INEC, and opposition parties, Sambo argued that Nigerians should be the ones to assess the electoral body’s performance based on its actions.

According to him, INEC must maintain its independence and distance from the government or individuals close to the government to preserve public confidence in the electoral process.

Sambo stated that comments from the President regarding INEC’s performance could be misinterpreted by members of the public, stressing that the electoral commission should be seen as impartial and free from political influence.

His remarks have sparked conversations about the importance of safeguarding the independence of democratic institutions and strengthening public trust in Nigeria’s electoral system.
