The Africa-International Tourism and Economic Council (AITEC) has called for visa-free travel across Africa as it unveiled two major tourism events designed to drive investment, trade and regional integration.
The organisation announced the 3rd Global Launch of AITEC World in London on November 2 and the 2nd Africa Tourism Dialogue in Addis Ababa from November 12-14, 2026. AITEC says Africa's tourism sector could contribute about $241 billion to the continent's economy in 2026 while supporting over 31 million jobs, but warned that high airfares and restrictive visa policies continue to hinder growth. The events will convene governments, investors and industry leaders to promote tourism, innovation, cultural diplomacy and stronger public-private partnerships across Africa.
