Health Tip

Sickle cell disease doesn't always look the same in everyone. Common signs and symptoms include frequent pain episodes (crises), tiredness, pale skin, swelling of the hands and feet, frequent infections, and yellowing of the eyes (jaundice). If not properly managed, it can lead to serious complications such as stroke, organ damage, severe anaemia, and delayed growth in children.

Early diagnosis, regular medical care, staying hydrated, and avoiding known triggers can help reduce complications and improve quality of life.
