We’ll Wrestle Ourselves to the Finishing Line -Tinubu to 2027 Rivals.
President Bola Tinubu has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will rely on its own strength and internal mobilisation to secure victory in the 2027 general election, saying the ruling party is prepared to "wrestle ourselves to the finishing line" without depending on the weaknesses of its opponents.
The President made the remarks while addressing party leaders and stakeholders, stressing the need for unity, discipline and sustained grassroots engagement as preparations intensify ahead of the next election cycle. He urged APC members across the country to remain focused on consolidating the party's structures and defending its electoral mandate.
Tinubu said the APC must not be distracted by the emergence of opposition alliances or political realignments, insisting that the party's success would depend on its ability to deliver good governance and maintain the confidence of Nigerians. According to him, every member has a responsibility to strengthen the party from the ward level to the national level.
"We will wrestle ourselves to the finishing line," the President said, adding that the APC would win by remaining united and working harder than its political rivals rather than waiting for divisions within the opposition.
He also called on elected officials and party leaders to deepen engagement with citizens, listen to their concerns and ensure that government policies translate into tangible improvements in the lives of Nigerians. Tinubu noted that public trust would remain the party's greatest asset as the 2027 elections approach.
The President further urged party faithful to avoid actions capable of creating unnecessary divisions within the APC, stressing that internal disagreements should be resolved through dialogue and established party mechanisms. He said a cohesive and disciplined party would be better positioned to retain power at both the federal and state levels.
Tinubu maintained that the APC remains confident of its prospects in 2027, expressing optimism that the administration's economic reforms, infrastructure projects and governance agenda would ultimately earn the support of voters. He said the party would continue to campaign on its record in office while encouraging members to remain committed to the collective goal of securing another electoral victory.
