GO BY INSTRUCTION
Acts 16:6 KJV
Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,
It is a common thing for people to face challenges in life and attribute it to the devil ignorantly. Even though it is true that the devil is always in opposition to what is good, you must realize that the devil is not always responsible for the struggles we find ourselves in. There are so many self imposed challenges that linger in peoples life because they are ignorant of the fact that they are the one responsible for their own calamity.
Paul wanted to go and preach in Asia but was stopped by the Holy Spirit. He was made to know that the destination is not in the plan of God for that time. This implies that if he had gone without knowing that God was not interested in Asia as at that time, he would have possibly struggled and worked without results. This is because no man can succeed in a thing that is not backed by God. This also means that there are lots of people who find themselves in a situation that leads to struggles and challenges because they were not instructed to do what they are doing by God. It means that it is not enough to be gifted or passionate for God but very crucial that you are instructed and follow the instruction of God for what you are doing. There are so many errors in the body of Christ today that came out of doing things without being guided or instructed by God. There are lots of worldly things that crept into the Church because people were led by their instinct under the guise of being instructed by the Holy Spirit. There are so many imported doctrines and strategies for the kingdom that were never part of God's ideology seen anywhere in the Bible.
Beloved, your passion is not enough to serve God without following instruction. So many people are passionately doing what they love doing and not what God wants them doing because of their skill. Your skill is never a sign of how God wants to use you. You need divine guidance to become precise in the things of God. You need to be sent before you can go. Stop drawing your motivation from what you see of men but what you see of God. Jesus kept saying that He does what He sees the Father do.
John 8:38 KJV I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.
Stop using the result of people to define their success in God. Look for that thing that eyes have not seen but you were created to do.
1 Corinthians 2:9 KJV
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
May you not serve in error in Jesus name.
Daily Task
Mention five ways to differentiate between the voice of God and your instinct.
Prayers
1. Father, I receive grace to follow You.
2. Father, I receive grace to discern your instruction.
