1st John 2:1 My little children, these things write I to you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 
Vs 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
Unbelief was referred to in the bible several times as evil. 
Hebrews 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. 
Hebrews 4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest,
lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
So Cain is called evil because of unbelief. Unbelief is in hatred for truth and was demonstrated in the way Cain killed his brother.
From Genesis 4, men were seen in those two lights: Unbelief or faith
Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Was Adam a sinner before he sinned? No! If he were, that would mean God made him a sinner.
Sin means to fall short; to miss it; to be less than; to miss a standard. So, you must miss something for it to become sin. 
Adam missed something.
In Genesis,there was the tree of knowledge of good and evil and the tree of life. To miss it here means to leave tree of life for tree of knowledge of good and evil. There must be an action to miss it.
Romans 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
That word 'disobedience' is unbelief. Adam didn't believe in the gift of life. Sin entered into the world through Adam's action of unbelief, and action of disobedience. So, he wasn't made a sinner by God. Unbelief and faith is demonstrated in man's free will. God gave man the license to sin because he gave man a free will to exercise; the right to choose. That license was what Adam used. So people sin because they are men and exercise the power of choice.
When God told Adam 'thou mayest freely eat...,' that already presupposes choice. The choice against the word of God is called unbelief. That would still be his choice. He wasn't a sinner to make that choice. He was just a man. It was a man who made that choice.
In New Testament language, four other words are used to describe sin:
📌 Transgression (meaning to break a rule- Romans 4:25, Romans 5:14, Hebrews 9:15)
📌Iniquity (2nd Timothy 2:19, Titus 2:14, Hebrews 8:12)
📌Unrighteousness (1st John 1:9, 2nd Corinthians 6:14,
Romans 6:13)
📌 Trespass (meaning to sidestep- Ephesians 1:7,
Ephesians 2:1
Sin entered the world via Adam's disobedience.
Hebrews 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
In the blood of Jesus, this was redeemed, paid for.
1st John 3:4 Whoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
Whether iniquity, transgression or trespasses, everything was paid for by the blood of Jesus. However, some words were used for believers. It will help the consciousness of a believer when he sins.
Romans 5:15 But not as the offense, so also is the free gift. For if through the offense of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded to many.
1st John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
In our fellowship with the father, we are cleansed.
Galatians 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

The phrase *overtaken* in a trespass was used for the Believer. The use of that word implies that he is now overwhelmed by it.
There are two ways to look at it: It is either he is caught up in the habit of sin or caught up in the guilt of it.
He is not saying restore him to God. Restoration is with the brethren. It is in his relationship with other believers that the restoration happens. He is not restoring to God.
Paul did that with the sinning brother in 1st Corinthians 5 and restored him in 2nd Corinthians 2:7.  The restoration is restoration in fellowship with fellow believers. Sin is the issue.
Sometimes, when It comes to sin, we are being myopic.
1st Corinthians 8:11 And through thy knowledge shall the weak
brother perish, for whom Christ died?
'Perish' here implies a confused state of being. The sin there is not to consider the conscience of somebody else. It means when your actions cause another person's conscience to be wounded,
