Your Excellencies, 240 million Nigerians write to you today as a concerned Nigerian citizen who believes deeply in the right of every one of our 240 million people to live in safety, dignity, and economic opportunity. Recent reports of Oyo State’s acquisition of two Diamond DA42 MNG surveillance aircraft highlight a step forward, but it also underscores a painful truth: two aircraft are not enough to secure 36 states and 774 local government areas.
Nigeria’s security challenges have persisted for decades. boko haram has terrorized communities since 1999. Banditry, kidnapping, and rural insecurity continue to claim innocent lives. We cannot afford half-measures or symbolic gestures. We need decisive action.
We respectfully demand, on behalf of millions of Nigerians, that every state and every LGA be equipped with modern surveillance capabilities. Two aircraft for one state is progress, but it is not a solution. We need a nationwide fleet of surveillance drones and aircraft capable of monitoring all 36 states and 774 LGAs. Our security forces cannot protect what they cannot see.
Your Excellencies, Nigerians see how quickly public funds are spent on projects that do not improve their lives. Yet when it comes to protecting Nigerians, responses are slow, delayed, or limited. This must change.
We demand:
Investment in large-scale surveillance technology for all states and LGAs.
Job creation for 240 million Nigerians through farming, industry, and technology.
Free and reliable electricity nationwide.
Free public Wi-Fi/data as promised for decades.
Free education up to the PhD level.
Free housing for vulnerable citizens.
New hospitals and free healthcare in every LGA.
These are not luxuries. They are the basic foundations of a modern society.
We do not seek to disrespect any leader. We seek action, not photo opportunities. We demand results, not MoUs. We demand protection, not promises.
Nigeria has waited too long. These aircraft should have been purchased decades ago. Our people have suffered enough.
We demand you to act now.
