🏆 Oshoala: Nigeria must win WAFCON, but women's football needs more

Asisat Oshoala has called for a revolution in African women's football ahead of the Super Falcons' opening WAFCON fixture against debutants Malawi, insisting that winning the tournament is "non-negotiable" for Nigeria — but that lifting the trophy alone is no longer sufficient.

The six-time African Women's Footballer of the Year says she wants to see WAFCON grow beyond results on the pitch, using her platform to push for wider development of the women's game across the continent.

Nigeria face tournament newcomers Malawi in their opening group-stage match as the Super Falcons target another continental title.
