Banyana Banyana, one of the favorites of the competition (2022 Champions), faced Tanzania, who were stronger and more clinical on the field. They snatched the victory in the final minutes of the match.

Tanzania started off the match well by opening the scoring in the 37th minute courtesy of Diana Msewa. South Africa got back into the match before halftime (45+2') thanks to Bambanani Mbane. But the Twiga Stars were able to claim all three points after Hasnath Ubamba scored (87th minute).
