Nigerian poet earns honourable mention in Vanderbilt University literary prize

A Nigerian-born poet, Adeniyi Odukoya, has been recognised with an honourable mention in Vanderbilt University's 2026 literary prize, one of eight writers singled out for the distinction this year.

The Nashville, Tennessee-based university announced the honour as part of its annual poetry competition, which drew close to 400 entries from writers across the United States and abroad.
