Not with a fancy outfit.

Peeing on your own hands. 😳

As strange as it sounds, that's exactly what male capuchin monkeys do.

The behavior is called urine washing. A male urinates on his hands, then rubs the urine over his fur, arms, and body, creating a strong scent that other monkeys can smell. 🐒

To us, it seems disgusting.

But to capuchins...

It's like wearing an expensive cologne. 🤯

Their urine contains chemical signals that can reveal a male's age, health, and hormone levels, giving females valuable information about a potential mate. 🧬

Scientists have even found that when female capuchin monkeys smell the urine of healthy, mature males, their brains show increased activity, suggesting the scent plays an important role in social and reproductive behavior. 🧠❤️

And when a dominant, or alpha, male notices females nearby...

He often increases his urine-washing, almost as if he's trying even harder to advertise himself. 👑

Urine washing isn't used only for attracting mates. Researchers believe it may also help communicate social status, territorial information, and individual identity within the group.

So while humans rely on perfume...

Capuchin monkeys have their own very different version.
