🔥 WAFCON Delivers Another Huge Shock as Tanzania Stun South Africa! 🇹🇿👏

The surprises keep coming at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations as Tanzania’s Twiga Stars produced a memorable 2-1 victory over defending champions South Africa to claim their first three points of the tournament.

Tanzania looked confident from the opening whistle and deservedly went ahead through Diana Msewa in the 37th minute. South Africa fought back just before the break, with Bambanani Mbane finding the equaliser in first-half stoppage time to make it 1-1.

Both teams created chances after the restart in an entertaining contest, but it was Tanzania who had the final celebration. Hasnath Ubaida struck in the 87th minute to seal a famous win and spark wild celebrations among the Twiga Stars.

This result is another reminder that the gap between Africa’s top teams and the emerging nations continues to shrink. Every team now has the quality to compete, making the 2026 WAFCON one of the most unpredictable editions in recent memory.
