FG Powers 15 Federal Tertiary Institutions With Nearly 100MW Solar Capacity, Guarantees 24-Hour Electricity

The Federal Government through the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) has completed renewable energy installations across 15 federal tertiary institutions nationwide, deploying nearly 100 megawatts of hybrid solar mini-grid capacity to guarantee round-the-clock electricity supply on the campuses.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the REA, Abba Aliyu, announced the milestone during a live interview on Channels Television, describing it as a major achievement under the agency's Distributed Access through Renewable Energy Scale-up (DARES) project.
