The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the Nigerian Army University Biu (NAUB) as a centre of excellence for military and civilian capacity development. Defence Minister, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), said the institution will play a vital role in equipping Nigeria with the technical expertise and specialised skills needed to address evolving security threats and build a highly skilled workforce for the digital age.

As part of the renewed support, the Ministry of Defence will work with the Armed Forces to maximise the university’s military admission quota and address key infrastructure needs. Plans are also underway to establish Africa’s first Centre for Military Performance Management at the institution, a move expected to enhance research, training and operational effectiveness within Nigeria’s defence sector.
