The SHIB daily burn rate spiked 5,223% as 401 million tokens were sent to a dead wallet in one 24-hour period, permanently removing them from circulation.

The burn came alongside a $700 million surge in SHIB's market capitalisation. Tokens sent to dead addresses cannot be recovered, gradually reducing total supply over time.

SHIB's burn mechanism is community- and transaction-driven, with no central authority controlling the pace of token destruction.
