๐จ WANTED SOLDIER ARRESTED OVER ALLEGED SUPPLY OF MILITARY KITS TO TERRORISTS
Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested a Nigerian Army soldier who was recently declared wanted over his alleged involvement in supplying military accoutrements to terrorists and other criminal elements.
The suspect, Private Mohammed Yusuf, attached to the Nigerian Army Ordnance Kits Factory, Lagos, was apprehended at about 6:30 p.m. on July 25 by troops of the 7 Provost Group at Jidari Bus Stop in Maiduguri, Borno State, following what the military described as credible human intelligence. Authorities alleged that he was attempting to flee to the Republic of Cameroon at the time of his arrest.
According to the Nigerian Army, the soldier had been declared wanted on July 23 over allegations that he was involved in the illegal supply of military uniforms and other military equipment to terrorists and criminal groups. Preliminary investigations indicate that he allegedly absconded from his unit before relocating to Maiduguri, where he reportedly went into hiding with the assistance of an associate.
The Army stated that the arrest demonstrates the effectiveness of its intelligence-led operations and reaffirmed its commitment to identifying and prosecuting any personnel whose actions threaten military discipline or national security. The suspect remains in military custody while further investigations continue to determine the full extent of the alleged activities and identify any possible accomplices.
