PROMOTING AFRICAN CULTURAL REAWAKENING

The best of African culture was on display in Ilorin, Kwara State at an event put together to create awarenss on the place of culture as the essence of human existence.

Speakers at the event which featured traditional drumming, dance, fashion, food and other aspects of African culture, said deliberate efforts must be made to encourage Nigerian and African youths to identify with their culture to promote home- grown development.

The speakers including the Vice Chancellor of Ojaja University, Eiyenkorin, Ilorin, Professor Jelili Ojuade, said Africans must resist the attempt by outsiders to categorise their culture as inferior.
