I am deeply upset by the way the President and the political class have handled the terror being meted out to Nigerians in South Africa.
This is not who we are as a people. Nigerians have always been known to rise to challenges with courage, resilience, and determination. The incessant brutal killings of Nigerians in cold blood in South Africa are completely unacceptable and cannot be treated with indifference.
It is not in our character to sit idle while our fellow citizens are attacked and killed with apparent impunity. Our youths often defend our nation passionately on social media whenever Nigeria comes under attack, yet our political leaders have failed to demonstrate the same level of urgency and resolve.
The protection of Nigerian lives, wherever they may be, should be a national priority. Nigerians deserve to know that their government will stand firmly in their defense and pursue every legitimate diplomatic and legal means to ensure their safety and dignity.
