A Nation That Cannot Protect Its Children Online Is Failing to Protect Its Future.

Nigeria and Africa must begin treating children's online safety as a national priority.

No child should create a social media account only to be met with explicit content, online scams, cyberbullying, violent material, and misinformation before they've even followed a single page.

Countries such as the United Kingdom and Australia have taken steps to hold digital platforms accountable for protecting children. Africa should not be left behind.

This is not a call for censorship or the suppression of free speech. It is a call for responsible digital governance.

We must demand:
• Stronger protections for children online.
• Swift action against scams and harmful content.
• Greater accountability from social media platforms.
• The preservation of every citizen's right to lawful expression.

The digital space should educate our children, not corrupt them.

Protect our children. Protect our future.
