Nigeria and Africa can no longer afford to ignore the impact of social media on our children.

A child should not create a new account and be greeted with explicit content, scams, violence, or misinformation before they've even followed a single person.

Countries like the UK and Australia are pushing platforms to take greater responsibility for protecting children online. Africa should be having the same conversation.

This isn't about silencing opinions or limiting free speech. It's about demanding safer digital spaces for the next generation.

Protect children. Fight scams. Reduce harmful content. Preserve free speech.

We can do all four.
