Why does President Tinubu never do interviews?
Why does he never take an unscripted question?
Why does he never face a journalist who might push back? Why?

Every democratic leader, from Ottawa to Washington to London to New Delhi, faces the press regularly. So why does Tinubu, from mount Olympus, speak only through aides and wannabe spin doctors?

Why has Peter Obi answered questions everywhere, live, unscripted, no dodging, while the president hasn’t? Not every answer will satisfy every critic; that is what happens when you actually show up. Is it because showing up is accountability, and Tinubu knows exactly what he would be accountable for?

Has the presidency been invited and refused? Why is that not a headline? And if no invitation exists, why does this president think he’s exempt from a norm every other leader accepts? Is this about airtime? Or is it about who believes their record can survive questioning, and who doesn’t?
