EXPIRED OPTION

John 21:3-4 KJV
[3] Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing. [4] But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.

Success in life will be elusive when a man does not know the secret of success. No matter how difficult a thing appears, it will give in once it is face to face with its secret. Everything answers and bows to its secret. Everything becomes difficult when you dont know how to do it, especially the secret to doing it well. It takes the knowledge of the secret of the lion to tame a lion. Also, the knowledge of the secret of snakes has helped some people to domesticate it. However, you must understand that some things do expire. There are secrets that work now but will lack capacity to work in the future because they are expired.
The text spoke about Peter going into fishing with the other disciples after the crucifixion of Jesus. The need for survival must have led to that. Unfortunately, Peter seems to forget that he has been moved from being a fisherman to a fisher of men. He forgot that Jesus had moved him from that position to a new position meaning that his capacity to do well in that trade had expired. He made a decision to leave the occupation when he saw the superior power of following Jesus. He went back to what was no more working in the past possibly due to a short memory and he got the same result that he got when he was moved out of that occupation: he toiled all night and caught nothing.

And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.
Are you certain that the reason your efforts are not yielding results is because the idea or secret has become outdated? God will not support what has expired. It will not work. Therefore, you need to stop doing or using a strategy that has expired to run your life. You must learn to discover what God has taken you away from and avoid it. If you continue to do what you have outgrown or keep down what God has placed in your past, you may find it difficult to get satisfaction in your present. Move up to that new and next idea that God placed in your heart. Do not be discouraged by any set back or seeming failure over that new idea or vision. Go ahead even when it looks like you are losing steam. Do not be like Peter whom God had moved to become the fisher of men but went back to being a fisherman because of discouragement. Dont look back but move forward even if it is a challenge. Your success is waiting for your resilience.
