KS Cinema Cabo Verde shared an inspiring production about their nation's historic #FIFAWC2026 journey ⚽🔥.
"They said we only had a 1% chance.
When few believed, we never stopped believing.
Today, that story inspires a nation." wrote their heroic goalkeeper Vozinha on his social media.
Cabo Verde made historic FIFA World Cup records during their debut tournament, highlighted by: reaching the Round of 32, becoming the smallest nation to reach the knockout stage, and advancing after three straight group-stage draws.
They became only the third nation in World Cup history to reach the knockouts by drawing all three group matches on debut, joining Wales (1958) and the Republic of Ireland (1990).
And Cabo Verde may not have reached the 2026 World Cup final, but they earned a very unique distinction: they were the only team that neither Spain nor Argentina could defeat in 90 minutes. Both finalists were held to draws in regulation, making Cabo Verde one of the tournament’s biggest surprises— and, in the eyes of many fans, the unofficial champions of the competition.
We're looking forward to see them back in the 2030 World Cup!.
