The recently foiled coup attempt in Nigeria is a strong indication that our democracy has matured. While our leaders may have shortcomings and inconsistencies in governance, a return to military rule is simply not an option.
Democracy is not perfect, but it remains the best path for resolving political differences through the rule of law and the ballot box, not through force.
Anyone found to have participated in the coup attempt should face the full weight of the law, in accordance with due process.
