Two Nigerian Girls Win Global AI Technology Prize, Beating Teams From Japan, Canada, Spain

Two young Nigerian innovators have won top honors at the 2025 Technovation Global Summit's Beginner Division, outperforming competitors from Japan, Canada, and Spain with an artificial intelligence tool built to prevent road accidents caused by tired or distracted drivers.

Akachukwu Blessed Nwachukwu and Ifunanya Gabriella Okoye, both 10 years old and from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, created the winning app, called Stay Woke.
