Normalize money conversations.

One of the most important conversations you can have—especially if you’re in a relationship or thinking about marriage—is about money.

Not to compete over who earns more or less, but to understand each other.

Talk about your income. Talk about your spending habits. Talk about your financial goals. Talk about your plans for the future.

Money shouldn’t be a taboo topic. It affects the kind of life you’ll build together, the decisions you’ll make, and how you navigate difficult seasons.

Love is beautiful, but love alone doesn’t pay bills, fund dreams, or prepare you for emergencies. It takes honesty, planning, and two people who are willing to contribute in whatever way they can.

When you’re choosing a life partner, don’t just ask, “Do I love this person?” Also ask, “How do they think about money? What is their source of income? Do they plan for the future? Can we build together?”

Money isn’t everything, but pretending it doesn’t matter has broken many relationships.

So talk about it. Plan together. Set realistic goals. Build together.

A healthy relationship should be a safe place to have honest conversations—even about money.
