GOV. OTTI, WIFE ATTEND WEDDING OF SA MONITORING & EVALUATION’S SON IN ABUJA.
Earlier today, the Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, alongside his wife, Her Excellency, Mrs. Priscilla Chidimma Otti, honoured the family of Mazi Ugochukwu Okoroafor, Special Adviser to the Governor on Monitoring and Evaluation, at the wedding of his son, Mr. Munachiso Chima Okoroafor who exchanged marital vows with his bride, Rachel Chika Ezieme, in a holy matrimony.
The First Family of Abia State participated fully in the ceremony, beginning with the church service held at The Father's Church, Jahi, Abuja, and culminating in the reception at the Maha Event Centre, Garki, Abuja.
In his goodwill message to the newlyweds, Governor Otti described birth, marriage and death as the three defining milestones in the life of every individual, noting that marriage is the only one in which people consciously and actively participate.
He advised the couple to embrace married life with patience, understanding and commitment. He explained that marriage comes with unexpected experiences that must be handled together, and likened it to a parcel whose contents are only discovered after it is opened.
The Governor urged them to resolve their differences privately without involving third parties stressing that where external guidance becomes necessary, it should come from a trusted pastor or genuine man of God rather than relatives, who may naturally take sides and complicate issues.
Governor Otti encouraged the couple to remain committed to making their union successful. He expressed confidence that their marriage would flourish, while congratulating them and their parents on the joyous occasion.
The ceremony attracted an array of distinguished personalities from all walks of life including Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, representing Abia Central Senatorial District, who chaired the event; the National Secretary of the Labour Party, Hon. Acho Obioma; High Chief Victor Ikeji, PhD, Federal Commissioner representing Abia State in the Federal Character Commission; Dr. Monday Ubani, SAN, former Vice President of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA; and former Inspector-General of Police, Mike Okiro.
Also in attendance were several Abia State Government officials, including: the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Barr. Ikechukwu Uwanna, SAN; the Commissioner for Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection, Mrs. Ngozi Felix; the Special Adviser on Budget, Dr. Eric Egwuibe; the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Multilateral and Donor Agencies, Mr. Odinaka Emeh; the Director-General of the Abia State Eye Health Management Bureau, Dr. Betty Emeka-Obasi; and the Managing Director of the Abia State Lottery Board, Hon.
