A former intern reached out to me recently and said "I'm 27. I earn β¦180,000 a month. Everybody says start investing. But after rent, food, and transport, I have β¦12,000 left. What am I supposed to invest?"
I gave my own honest & practical advise based on my life experiences, expectations and adaptations but then I thought this was an interesting question because a lot of personal finance advice assumes people have disposable income.
I'd love to hear from you guys: If you were in his shoes, what would you advise? Save the β¦12,000, invest it, learn a skill with it, or focus entirely on increasing income?
