Holiness is not first about being flawless but about being set apart for God. In Scripture, even objects like the tabernacle and altar were called holy because they were dedicated to God’s purpose, not because they were morally perfect (Exodus 30:29). Likewise, our holiness begins with God’s consecration and our position in Him, before it is reflected in how we live.

Every believer is holy because God has set them apart through faith in Christ. Paul called believers saints not because they were perfect, but because they belonged to Christ. Our holiness is based on Jesus’ finished work and God’s calling, not on our own performance 1 Peter 2:9.

Holiness is not a license to live carelessly but the foundation for godly living. Because Christ has made you holy, you can live in a way that reflects your identity. You don’t earn God’s acceptance through perfect performance, your holiness is rooted in Christ’s perfect work, so live confidently as one who has been set apart for God.
