Everyone wants to be friends with successful people, and I get it. Success is attractive.

But I think there are just as many lessons—if not more—from the people around you every day.

Watch people’s patterns. Watch the decisions they make. Watch where those decisions eventually lead them.

We celebrate success, but we often ignore failure. Yet failure leaves clues too.

Sometimes, watching someone make avoidable mistakes will teach you ten times more than listening to someone talk about their wins.

Not so you can judge them, but so you can learn without paying the same price.

Life is always teaching. The question is: are you paying attention?
