We all claim to love, but deep within, we know that our own needs often become our greatest motivation. When we are given a platform to express, we readily embrace it—not always because we genuinely love the people or the cause, but because we have found an opportunity to express ourselves.

By default, human nature is selfish. It takes the transforming grace of God to make a person truly selfless. Unless God has deeply worked in a man's heart and shown him great mercy, self-interest will often take priority over genuine love.

True love is not merely seeking a place to be heard; it is seeking the good of others, even when there is nothing to gain. That kind of love is the fruit of God's work in a transformed life.
