Cameroonian President Paul Biya has the dubious double honours of being the world's oldest leader and also longest serving (non-royal) leader of a country.
At 93 years, he's been president since 6 Nov 1982 (43 years) and was sworn in for a 8th term of 7 years on 6 Nov 2025. Most Cameroonians (most probably over ⅔) have never known any other leader except him.
And presently he's been away in Europe since 6 June (over 46 days) attending to his health while his country runs on autopilot.
