Singer Chris Brown and his Nigerian Vocal Coach, Omololu, Plead Guilty to vicious and unprovoked public violence at a London Nightclub

American R&B star Chris Brown and his vocal coach, rapper Omololu Akinlolu, popularly known as Hoody Baby, have pleaded guilty to affray over a 2023 att@ck on music producer Abe Diaw at the Tape nightclub in Mayfair, London.

Prosecutors described the incident as a “vicious and unprovoked att@ck,” alleging Brown struck Diaw on the head with a tequila bottle before chasing him, while Akinlolu joined in by punching him. The victim was reportedly pushed to the floor and kicked as he tried to flee, suffering head and knee inj¥ries that required hospital treatment.

Following their guilty pleas at Southwark Crown Court, prosecutors dropped the more serious charges of as+ault, attempted grievous bodily h@rm and possession of an offensive we@pon. Affray, which involves using or thre@tening vi%lence that causes fear for personal safety, carries a maximum three-year prison sentence. Judge Tony Baumgartner fixed sentencing for October 26 and allowed Brown to remain on bail and continue his world tour, provided he returns to the UK on October 25.

Detective Constable Zara Ripamonti described the as+ault as disgraceful and said there was no place for such vi%lence in London, while CPS prosecutor Claire Campbell said no one is above the law. Brown greeted fans and signed autographs outside court after the brief hearing.

The report also recalled Brown’s 2009 as+ault on then-girlfriend Rihanna, for which he pleaded guilty and received 180 days of community labour and five years’ probation. Brown later admitted the incident made him feel like a “monster” and said it would “haunt” him forever.
