₿ Nine Bitcoin giants pool $15M to secure the network

BlackRock, Fidelity, Coinbase, ARK Invest, Anchorage Digital, Block, Blockstream, Galaxy and Strategy have launched the Bitcoin Security Consortium — committing $15M over three years to fund Bitcoin network security infrastructure.

The move signals a rare moment of institutional coordination across competitors who collectively hold some of the largest BTC positions on the planet. As block subsidy continues to halve, long-term network security increasingly depends on transaction fees and external funding — a problem the industry has quietly acknowledged for years.

$15M won't solve the block reward cliff alone, but having this lineup behind a formal consortium is a meaningful first step toward treating Bitcoin's security budget as a shared institutional responsibility.
