As a Nigerian and An African Man,
Paul Biya has been in power since 1982—over four decades. For many Cameroonians he’s essentially been the only president we’ve ever known. If you were born anytime from the 1980s onward, your entire life has unfolded under the same leader.
This kind of long rule shapes how people think about politics. Leadership can start to feel permanent, almost like a fixed part of the system rather than something that regularly changes.
What a shame!!!
