JESUS OUR ADVOCATE 1
1st John 2:1 My little children, these things write I to you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
Vs 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
The above text refers to Believers. Jesus is our Advocate with the Father when we sin, So the Holy Ghost knew that sons of God would sin.
The believer must be patient in his approach to bible study . Every bible student must read the bible regularly. He must learn not to isolate the scriptures.
A believer must never be afraid of sin. This is not to say that a believer should be in love with sin, but he must never be afraid of sin.
God does not condone sin. God does not compromise his standards. God does not ignore rebellion. God does not relax his demands. Rather than dismiss sin, He assumes the responsibility and incredibly sentences himself.
Jesus was punished for our sins hence we are redeemed. God does what we can't do. So we can be what we dare not dream. We are perfect and blameless before God.
Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
Vs 4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Vs 5 Having predestinated us to the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
Vs 6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
Vs 7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Vs 8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
Vs 9 Having made known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
Vs 10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
Vs 11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
Vs 12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
Vs 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Vs 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of his glory.
He calls us saints.
1st Corinthians 1:2 to the church of God which is at Corinth, to
them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
God put sin on his son. Our relationship with God is never based on us, but on his son.
Jesus at the Passover table said his blood is shed for the remission of sins. In the New Covenant, the blood of Jesus has been shed for our sins.
Matthew 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sin.
The writer of Hebrew lets us know that he doesn’t find fault. He will not remember our sins and iniquity.
Hebrews 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
Vs 7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
Vs 8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
Vs 9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
Vs 10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
Vs 11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
Vs 12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
CONFESSION: I am the redeemed. My sins were laid on Jesus. I stand perfect and complete in him.
