A delegation from the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI), led by its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Armstrong Ume Takang, on Friday paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Dr Alex C. Otti .

Dr Takang said the visible changes across Abia have restored the dignity of the State and changed the old story that once made it an object of ridicule among other States. He praised the Governor for bringing discipline, direction and results into governance.

Speaking from personal experience, the MOFI Chief thanked Governor Otti for reconstructing the Umuahiaโ€“Uzuakoliโ€“Akaraโ€“Abiribaโ€“Ohafia Highway, which has made journeys to his Ohafia hometown safer, faster and more convenient. He also appreciated the internal roads and solar streetlights delivered in Asaga, Ohafia, through the Greater Ohafia Development Authority (GODA). Dr Takang further thanked the Governor for honouring his late uncle, Rev. Dr Uma Ukpai, during his funeral and preserving his memory by naming a major road after the respected preacher.

The Governor welcomed the delegation and thanked its members for recognising the work being done by his administration. HE Dr Otti described the progress recorded so far as part of a much larger plan to rebuild public infrastructure, reconnect communities and improve the daily lives of Abians, assuring the team that his government would continue working with greater determination for the overall transformation of the State.

Some top officials of the Abia State Government were present during this meeting.
