INFLUENCE OF RICHES II

Matthew 19:22-24 KJV
[22] But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. [23] Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. [24] And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

When you understand the strategy of the devil, it becomes easy for you to become victorious in life. The truth is that he does not use much of spiritual powers to get his victim, but manipulation of their mind. So many people wait to see him use force or power on them but later discover that he works on the mind of his victim. This is why the Bible says that the weapon of our warfare should be used to deal with every imagination and things that the devil will bring to take or shift our thought from God.
2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
The text shows how a young man who was desirous of submitting to God changed his mind because of his possessions. The love to follow God was silenced. Jesus said afterwards that it will be difficult for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. This is a simple secret for anyone who cares to listen. It means the reason some people will have challenges in eternity is because of their possessions. A wise man will use this information to guide himself so he does not become a victim of eternal damnation. It also means that a man should be careful with success or riches because it has the capacity to influence you in making a decision that will be contrary to your eternal comfort. This also means that the devil will use success to stop some people from working out their salvation. Therefore, a man should be careful with success because it can be a trap set by the devil to hinder you from taking your eternity seriously.
In reality, there are people whose commitment to the kingdom of God waned because of their work and the pursuit of wealth. You must do everything possible to make sure that wealth, riches and affluence do not hold you down or weaken your spiritual life. Some have sold their souls to the devil because of their desire to be wealthy. They have gone into all manner of things that are unspeakable. This is not to say riches or wealth is evil but that it should not make you reject or deny the principles of God.
