World Foundation — the org behind Sam Altman's iris-scanning "proof of human" project — closed a $52.5M token sale led by Pantera Capital, with Bain Capital Crypto also participating. Tokens are locked for one year.

The raise is aimed at scaling World's ID infrastructure specifically for AI agent verification — the idea being that as AI proliferates, proving you're human becomes a core piece of internet infrastructure.

Pantera and Bain backing a locked-token round signals conviction in the thesis, not just a quick flip.
