Would you donate one of your kidneys to save the life of a complete stranger?
It's easy to say "yes" until you're the one being asked.
The human body has two kidneys, and in many cases, a healthy person can live a normal life with just one. That's why kidney donation has given thousands of people with kidney failure a second chance at life.
However, donating a kidney isn't a decision to make out of emotion alone. It requires thorough medical evaluation to ensure it's safe for both the donor and the recipient. Not everyone is medically fit to donate, and that's perfectly okay.
Choosing to donate is an incredible act of kindness, but choosing not to donate doesn't make someone selfish either. It's a deeply personal decision that should be made with the right information, careful thought, and medical guidance.
So, let's talk.
If you were found to be a perfect match for a complete stranger, would you donate one of your kidneys to save their life?
Why or why not?
