Nigerian-American Harvard Grad Builds World's First Braid-Assist Robot

A Nigerian-American engineer and Harvard graduate, Yinka Ogunbiyi, has developed HaloBraid, described as the world's first braid-assist robot designed to ease physical strain on hairstylists and cut braiding time in salons.

The startup has raised $7 million in seed funding, led by venture capital firm Seven Seven Six, founded by Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, with participation from AlleyCorp and Bling Capital, and has attracted more than 7,000 salons to its waitlist ahead of a commercial launch.
