Delta Gov Rewards Spelling Bee World Champion Okediachi with N20m

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, on Friday presented N20 million to Great Chinedu Okediachi in recognition of his role in Team Nigeria's gold-medal win at the 2026 World Spelling Bee Championship in Shanghai, China, describing the feat as proof of the state's investment in education paying off.

The governor made the presentation at the Government House in Asaba while receiving the championship trophy from the student and officials of the Ministry of Secondary Education, according to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon.
