๐ด THE COST OF ETHNIC PROFILING IN NIGERIA
31% of Nigerians have been discriminated against because of their tribe. That's 70 MILLION people.
The Igbo face it most (47%). Ethnic minorities aren't far behind (40%).
Meanwhile, Nigeria ranks 6th deadliest conflict globally. Over 9,000 killed in political violence last year alone.
This isn't just tribalism. It's a vicious cycle:
โ Profiling โ Marginalization โ Polarization โ Violence โ More Profiling
133 million Nigerians are trapped in this cycle. And we're all paying the price.
Only 32% of us feel "only Nigerian." The rest? Closer to their tribe than their country.
Ethnic profiling in Nigeria isn't just morally wrong, it's economically catastrophic and existentially dangerous for a nation of 230 million people and 250+ ethnic groups.
If Nigeria is to survive and thrive, it must choose citizenship over tribe before the data becomes irreversible.
Drop a ๐ฅ if you agree this needs to end.
